Scott Allen obtained degrees in History and Fine Arts History from Principia College in Illinois. Acrylic paintings and portraits of African American women and Asian women distinguish his style. His background in studio art derives primarily from study of figure drawing with Suzanne Bothwell at UCLA. Influences from Paul Gauguin, Milton Avery, and Frida Kahlo are also prevalent in his work.
