About Scott Allen

Bio and style influences

Scott Allen obtained degrees in History and Fine Arts History from Principia College in southern Illinois. Acrylic paintings and portraits of African American women and Asian women distinguish his style. His background in studio art derives primarily from study of figure drawing with Suzanne Bothwell at UCLA. In addition to Bothwell, influences from Paul Gauguin, Milton Avery, and Frida Kahlo are prevalent in his work.

Showings and sales

Allen has shown in Los Angeles at Speezy Gallery in 2001, and Café Latte in 2003 but is now selling from this site and showing from his home. More about Scott Allen can found on his Facebook profile.
